We were contacted by a member of the public and asked if there was anyway we would be able to help raise some funds for a local lady who was doing it extremely tough. She was a single mother of 4 children, she had recently required several hospital visits and surgeries for an illness. On the way home one day she was hit whilst driving her car, leaving the vehicle a write off, and not being able to afford car insurance, it left her with no means to continue being able to go hospital for treatment, or to transport the children. A close family member of the lady started a gofund me page to raise $1000, which might not sound like much, but when you have nothing, it means more than anything. This was to purchase a small run around car to see them through winter, and give her a chance to get back on top of things. We at Ripple Effect quickly painted up a skateboard deck that we raffled off the day after being approached. We raised $400 on the raffle, and then numerous donors through our raffle chipped in to reach their $1000 target. In the end the lady was presented with a cheque for $1150, and we were advised that she was absolutely over the moon and grateful.

We just thought we would share a little positive story, in a time where its easy to be negative.

Love and best wishes

Ripple Effect the change started to make a positive difference in our environment through supporting ocean conservation, animal welfare, and most recently helping our fellow Australians doing it tough by using a portion of our proceeds to purchase and donate sleeping bags and supplies to those who need it.
